Imayam Institute of Agriculture and Technology (IIAT) was affiliated to TamilNadu Agricultural University (TNAU) which is a premier and pioneer institute in agricultural education, research and extension. The university is well known for regional, national and International levels for the development of large number of improved varieties of food crops, horticultural crops and agricultural implements.
Thus, IIAT is the fifth private self-financing agricultural college affiliated to TNAU. Initially, IIAThas started B.Sc. (Agriculture) programme (2013) with intake of 54 students and currently offering B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture intake with 120 student’s.
This college is situated at Kannanur on the ThuraiyurNamakal Highway, six kilometers away from Thuraiyur Municipality. It is well connected by roads and the nearest railway station and airport is Tiruchirappalli, which is 50 km from Thuraiyur.

Eligibility
Minimum Educational Qualification : Higher Secondary (10+2) or Equivalent
Duration of the course : Four years
Group I: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Group II: Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a fourth (elective) subject of any relevant science having marks (not Grades).
Group II (A): Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
Library
The library is equipped with all the essential books required for under graduate teaching. More than 4,000 text and reference books are available. Reprographic facilities (printer, scanners, and copier machines) are also available for the benefit of the students.
Hostel
Girls hostel is also provided with separate cot, bed, bookshelf table, chair and good lighting facility. A common R.O water plant is provided to supply safe drinking water . All the girl students are well accommodated in the available rooms. The mess is equipped with modern cooking equipment and the foods are cooked hygienically and served in a clean environment. The hostel is located around 150 meters away from college and is easily reachable.. The girl students in the hostel are taken care of by two women Residential Tutors in the cadre of Assistant Professors. Every day study hours with duration of one and a half hours is observed.
Students Placement
The Placement Cell of Imayam Institute of Agriculture anorganized with Technology, Thuraiyur with the area of 540 sq.ft has been undertaking placement process from the year 2013 onwards. The following placement initiatives were taken for the benefit of students.

- Special lectures were given by the market executives, financial officers/Research experts, farmers agricultural students currently occupying higher position NGO,s and private input dealers
- Arranged interaction meeting with experts
